The Oklahoma Quarterback Baker Mayfield was selected under No. 1 in the NFL draft. Heimen`s trophy winner, who did not even have a football scholarship until two years ago, became the owner of Cleveland, who was eligible for the first selection. Mayfield began his college career in Texas Tech, but left after the Red Knights preferred Patrick Mahoams as the title holder. After a year outside the college system, he was drawn to Oklahoma, winning the Big 12 title for two consecutive years, and giving passes of more than 11, 000 yards. Mayfield is not present at the Arlington Hall where the drafte is held, and learned the news that he will play for Cleveland at 320 km south in Austin.
Expected quarterbacks prevailed in the early elections, with four of them in the Top 10. Under No. 3, NJs selected Sam Darnold (USC), Buffalo went up to No. 7 to secure Josh Allen (Wyoming), and Arizona under No. 10 have dealt with the often injured in the last two seasons Josh Rosen (UCLA). And their total number of five in the first round is the largest since the beginning of the century!
