The mayor of San Antonio Rob Najarenberg promised his city to have a team in NFL for up to ten years. In an interview with ABC`s local affiliate, the mayor said the economic situation was ripe for another professional team. Currently, San Antonio is the Spurs home of the NBA.
San Antonio had matches from the NFL in 2005 when, due to the damage from hurricane Katrina New Orleans, they played three matches in Alamodoom. The facility, opened in 1993, is home to college Texas-San Antonio and according to Najarenberg it can be used to start a professional team`s presence in the city. But building a new hall is a must.
Since, from a mathematical point of view, the current number of Teams in the League is practically perfect (32), the only option for San Antonio is to attract some of the existing ones. Candidate 1 is LA Chargers. For the Lightning, relocating from San Diego proved a real failure. With less than 30, 000 viewers per match and the inability to sell the hangers, the Chargers actually play 16 games via american football predictions per season in front of a predominantly competing audience.
Their eventual move to San Antonio, however, will meet resistance from the two teams already operating in the state. Dallas and Houston are not eager to share territory with yet another rival, and despite the controversial actions of their owners, Bob McNear and especially Jerry Jones have solid positions among their colleagues.
